What is Flexeril?
Flexeril is the brand name of Cyclobenzaprine, among many others.
It is a medicine for muscle spasms from musculoskeletal conditions of sudden onset.
This medication is not for cerebral palsy. You can take this medication by mouth for, upto a few weeks only.
You can order Flexeril online easily. It helps to relax specific muscles, relieve pain, stiffness, and discomfort in your body. Strains, sprains, or injuries to your muscles cause these types of pain in your muscles.
Although, this medication does not take the place of rest, exercise, or physical therapy, or other recommendations by the doctor for your medical problem. This medication acts on the central nervous system to produce its narcotic muscle effects.

This medication is available only with your health advisor’s prescription. Otherwise, keeping it, selling, or buying without prescription is illegal. It is available in three forms:

It is not sure of the relationship of age to the effects of Cyclobenzaprine prolonged-release capsules in the pediatric population.
Elderly individuals have the possibility of higher blood levels in comparison to younger individuals; that is why this medication is not for elderly individuals.
It is not yet sure in women for determining infant risk when taking this medication during breastfeeding.
How to take Flexeril
Take this medication according to your prescription. Do not take more of this medication. Doing so might enhance the risks of severe side effects.
Swallow the prolonged-release capsule whole. If you cannot swallow the medicine whole, open the capsule and mix the contents over one spoon or cup. Swallow it instantly without chewing. Never save any of the mixtures to use later.
The dose of this medication is different for different patients. If your amount is additional, do not change it on your own without a prescription. This medication’s dose depends on the strength of the medicine and the length of the time you take the drug.
If you miss a dose of Flexeril, take it as soon as possible without skipping the amount. If it is almost the same time for your next dose, cut it and take the next dose on time with precautions. Do not double the amounts.
Store the medicines in a tight container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Do not keep useless medication. Throw them outside.
Do not take an overdose of the medication. It can cause some effects with Cyclobenzaprine overdose, such as drowsiness and tachycardia. Less frequent manifestations including tremor, agitation, coma, ataxia, hypertension, slurred speech, confusion, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and hallucinations.
Symptoms of overdose:
- Dry, hot, flushed skin
- Fast or irregular heartbeat
- Increase or decrease in body temperature
- Nervousness or restlessness
What to avoid while taking Flexeril:
While taking the narcotic muscle Flexeril, you should avoid drinking alcohol, and it can increase the effects on thinking and motor skills. Avoid antidepressant drugs such as Phenelzine and tranylcypromine because the combination might cause life-threatening side effects.
Flexeril side effects:
Like all the drugs and medications, Flexeril also has side effects. It might cause some unwanted effects. Not all the side effects require medical help; some end automatically within 2 to 3 days.
Some rare side effects:
- Clumsiness or unsteadiness
- Mental depression
- Problems in urinating
- Ringing or buzzing in the ears
- Skin rash, hives, or itching, happening without other symptoms of an allergic reaction
- Unusual thoughts of dreams
- Yellow eyes or skin
Some side effects might happen that usually do not need medical help. If you have any of these side effect’s symptoms, tell your doctor:
More common side effects:
- Hazy or ambiguous sight
- Dizziness, drowsiness, or
- Dryness of the mouth
Less common or rare side effects:
- Bloated feeling or gas, indigestion, nausea or vomiting, or stomach cramps or pain
- Excitement of nervousness
- Frequent urination
- The general feeling of discomfort or illness
- Muscle twitching
- Numbness, shivering, pain, or weakness in hands or feet
- Pounding heartbeat
- Problems in speaking
- Trouble sleeping
- Unpleasant taste or other taste changes
- Unusual muscle weakness
- Unusual tiredness
What drugs can interact with Flexeril:
Do not use some medications together at all; in another case, two different drugs using together may cause interaction.
When you take this medication, your health advisor must know if you are taking other medicines with Flexeril.
